The Best Places to Take Engagement Photos in Eastern Maine

Choosing a location for your engagement photos is about more than just a beautiful view; it’s about capturing who you are as a couple. Whether you love ocean views, wooded trails, historic downtowns, or the cozy comfort of your own backyard, Eastern Maine has something for everyone.

Here are some of my go-to places for engagement sessions, plus tips on finding a spot that truly tells your love story.

1. Downtown Bangor

Downtown Bangor brings vibrant energy, historic charm, and lots of variety for photos. Cobblestone alleys, colorful murals, and the riverside boardwalk make this a versatile location. Whether you’re dressed to the nines or rocking casual date night vibes, this setting works beautifully.

2. Fields Pond Audubon Center

Tucked away in Holden, this serene location offers fields, forests, and a peaceful pond, perfect for couples who love the outdoors. Sunsets here are next level, especially in the fall.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of this Maine landscape, their session captured so much joy, connection, and unmistakable love. A romantic engagement session at one of the Bangor area’s most scenic outdoor locations.

3. Sand Beach, Acadia National Park (Winter Edition)

Dreamy and dramatic, Sand Beach in winter is unlike anything else. Think snow-dusted cliffs, misty sea spray, and cozy winter outfits. It’s quiet, romantic, and totally Maine.

4. Wadsworth Cove Beach, Castine

This quiet beach in Castine has soft sand, gentle waves, and stunning golden hour light. It’s the perfect coastal escape for couples wanting a peaceful setting with classic Maine charm.

5. Your Special Spot: Where Your Story Lives

While these are some of my favorite public locations, the best engagement sessions often happen somewhere personal.

Think about places that mean something to your relationship:

  • A family camp where you spent a summer together

  • A hidden fishing spot you return to every season

  • The hiking trail where the proposal happened

  • Even your backyard, where you’ve built a life together

Let’s Tell Your Story

Whether you have a location in mind or need help choosing one, I’m here to guide you. My goal is to make your session feel easy, comfortable, and uniquely you.
